Mission Moments

Inner Explorer created Mission Moments to keep you updated on the impact your support and generosity has on those we serve. We want to share not only program developments, but also the stories that warm our hearts and fuel our mission to reach ten million mindful children by 2020. A goal we accomplished because of you. Thank you!

Mission Moments: December 2019

In the summer of 2018, The Nation Magazine published an article on elementary school families in Ravenswood, West Virginia plagued by opiates. The article explores 'children growing up in the shadow of the opioid crisis'. At the story's conclusion the principal says--we just need help. IE staff contacted the school and gifted them our program. That September they began practicing mindfulness; it has been life changing for both students and teachers. Below is a two minute video of the school counselor and a veteran teacher discussing the transformation. It's estimated that 2.2 million children are affected by parent opioid use. Give to Inner Explorer today and help us help teach more kids the mindfulness skills to navigate this crisis. Together we're improving student mental health/wellness and fighting the devastating effect of opiates on families.
